The Turbos will practice once per week starting in November. The practices will be 90 – 120 minutes each. The team will also play in a competitive indoor league to be announced. Beginning in March of 2013, the team will practice and play 4-5 days per week. We will have a spring schedule of 12 – 18 games. The team will then play in three major lacrosse tournaments in the summer of 2013.
Off-season fall and winter activities will be held within a 15 mile radius of Ultimate Soccer in Pontiac. We are currently investigating a number of options at which to hold practices and games. For the Spring season, we will seek a location that makes the most sense based on where our families live. Our aim is to find a home field location that is convenient to everyone.
The Turbos will be coached by a few of the outstanding instructors from within Warriors Elite and All American. The coaches for the spring and summer have yet to be determined. Your coaches will be mature, experienced lacrosse coaches with playing experience. We do not use volunteer moms or dads for this program.
For spring, expect to travel out of state for two or three weekends. The trips will be reasonable to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Ontario, or maybe the west side of the state. During summer, there will be three weekends away, two of which will be 5 hours or less by car, and the third to the east coast.
The cost to participate is the same as it would be for any other program that participates in a high level of training and activity. Bear in mind that the purpose of the program is to develop strong performance. We will therefor participate in quite a large number of events, most of which have associated costs. We will have a payment schedule that spreads cost out throughout the year. And we do offer special terms for those in need.
Our experience has shown that this does not work. We are only looking for players that can commit 100% to the Turbos.
Unfortunately, only those currently in grade 8 or lower are eligible.
